Underwriting summary (lender pack)
Solar finance glossary · South Africa
Quick definition
An underwriting summary (lender pack) is the structured set of documents and analysis that a funder's credit team needs to assess a solar finance application: company and director information, financial statements and bank statements, the system quote and technical specification, the financial proposal, and a summary of affordability and risk.
A good pack presents the deal the way the credit committee reads it. That usually means a one-page summary (applicant, amount, term, structure, security, key ratios), followed by the supporting evidence in a fixed order: registration and compliance documents, annual financial statements and management accounts, bank statements, the EPC quote and single-line diagram, insurance and site details, and any consents or resolutions.
In South Africa the pack is what separates a fundable deal from a stalled one. Funders receive many incomplete applications; a complete, consistent pack with the ratios already calculated moves faster and is easier to compare across funders.
ArkFlow is a software platform that facilitates assembling the lender pack from documents uploaded once and verified automatically, then presenting it to funders in a standard format.
